It feels like we have been in our own version of the movie Groundhog's Day, starting over each week. I am looking forward to our first 5 day week in a very long time! We are continuing our work with Red Yarn. Students have begun to create their puppets - they are fantastic! Check out the Photos page for your artists in action. We originally had a little performance scheduled for this Thursday. Due to the schedule changes with the snow days we have moved the performance to the following Thursday, February 2nd. It will be from 1:45-2:05 in the cafeteria. This should leave us enough time to return to the classroom to prepare for dismissal. I will let you know if this changes! We have spent the last couple of weeks learning about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and discussing how we can use powerful words to help change our world. We read the story Martin's Big Words and students created their own colorful collages of words they feel are powerful. We are creating a bulletin board display in the classroom so please stop by and have a look. I'll post a picture once we have finished it. Another rescheduled event is coming this Friday - Pajama Day! Students are welcome to wear their pajamas to school and we'll have a special celebration postponed from before Winter Break.
